Working in a corporate office park is, or was, great for lunch. There was a veritable party of food trucks to choose from. The regulars were The Lobsta Truck, The Bollywood Kitchen, Stout Burgers, Philly Jay's Steaks, Plant Power, Belly BombZ, just to name a few.

Unfortunately, COVID-19 has us all locked down still and no one is going in to the office (if they are working at all) and that is absolutely killing the food truck business. No one is searching for that quick, delicious lunch from talented roaming chefs. Over 2700 have parked, some never to return. Those still operating are doing everything they can to stay afloat.

Some are working private, socially-distanced events, some reaching out to neighborhood associations to see if their services can help alleviate the stress, boredom, or just provide a treat. Being curious and spontaneous is something we don't get to do during our lunchtime hours, but seeking out or reaching out to these small businesses can be beneficial for both neighborhoods and these amazing chefs on wheels.

So, how do you find these culinary craftsmen and craftswomen? We like the StreetFoodFinder app: https://streetfoodfinder.com/c/CA/Los%20Angeles

Once you know your favorites, Google them! They plan their weekly locations and have schedules and menus on their websites (and amazing pictures to get your taste buds started).

Want to get in the mood for great mobile food with a movie and a Netflix show? Check out our favorite movie "Chef" and Netflix’s "The Chef Show" with Jon Favreau and Roi Choi. They know a thing or two about filmmaking and cooking and food trucks.

Let's mask up and hunker down to defeat COVID so we can get back to the food truck parties we miss so much.
